British-American filmmaker John Daly, who has producer credits for 13 Oscar-winning movies, has died at age 71, according to medie reports Sunday. Daly died in his sleep Friday in Los Angeles, his Hollywood-based production company Film and Music Entertainment announced. He had reportedly been suffering from cancer. During his 40-year career, Daly produced 21 films that received Oscar nominations. His credits included Platoon and The Last Emperor. The British-born Daly founded his first production company with a friend in 1967 in London.
