Quentin Tarantino hires Diane Kruger for ‘Bastards’

Quentin Tarantino has hired Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz and Paul Rust for roles in his upcoming World War II flick “Inglorious Bastards" for Weinstein Co. and Universal.

Variety reports the film is set to begin production on Oct. 13 with shooting taking place in Germany.

The three actors will join the rest of the cast – which now includes Brad Pitt, director Eli Roth, Mike Myers, Michael Fassbender, B.J. Novak and Samm Levine.

Kruger (best known for “Troy” and "National Treasure") will handle the role of German actress Bridget Von Hammersmark. Her character will figure into the plot to kill the Nazis. Actress Nastassja Kinski was first rumored to be up for the role.

Waltz is best known in Germany for his television work and will handle the role of Col. Hans Landa – the film’s primary antagonist.
